“I’m pretty creative and love food, so baking for me is the perfect combination of the two. It helps me to relax, even when the pressure to create a special cake for family or friend, is on!
I think the most adventurous cake I undertook, stemmed from a slight misunderstanding. My friend called to ask if I could bake a birthday cake, knowing her daughters birthday was in the next few weeks I said yes of course, what sort of cake would they like, a fish cake came the reply. So, there is me picturing a simple goldfish in orange buttercream, so I said yes of course. The following day when the picture and further details landed of who and what the cake was for (her brothers 40th birthday and needed to feed around 30 people – no less) the fear hit – I’d already said yes and I couldn’t let them down… I think my most challenging, creative yet rewarding bake was in the making and I personally think I “reeled” this one in…
